Good News!

We have had some truly wonderful newsJ. The Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council have granted The Griffin Clickers £3,000 from the Community Group funding project.

This money has already been allocated for equipment and training purposes. Among these are pop up gazebos, to give us some shelter when training outside in the bad weather, or to provide us and the dogs with a respite from the blazing hot sunshine that we shall have in the summer! We will also be purchasing a generator to give us the freedom to perform demonstrations without needing to be close to power points and a large shed to store our equipment in, rather than it being spread around various sheds, as it is at the moment.

As a local club we will try and support local businesses as far as possible when making purchases, consequently we will be purchasing new club badges from Toye Kenning and Spencer in Bedworth.

Some of the money is to help towards training programmes for our trainers and we are planning classes and assessments which will result in a nationally recognised qualification for those taking part.

There is a long list of items, including a new printer, some more netting and poles to give us extra security and flexibility when training and putting on dog shows, matting for indoor training and various other ‘household’ items.

This funding will enable us to go on to provide an affordable way for local people to train their dogs and keep our outside training on a payment by donation basis.

It is truly cheering news that there is still government money being allocated for the benefit of local communities, we are just one of a number of local groups that receive monies from this fund and we will do our best to spend it wisely and to best effect.

We will be posting pictures of the purchases in use as we get them, so keep looking!!
